POSITION: Digital Media Specialist (North Metro)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Digital Media Specialist supports, implements and enhances the college’s interactions with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms. The purpose of this position focuses on increasing brand awareness through the effective use of social media outlets. Monitors online posts that mention the college to mediate the impact of negative reviews and share positive testimonials with their current following to strengthen customer relationships. This position works as part of the college marketing team to cultivate a social media following, communicate important messages and respond to inquiries. Additionally, the position prepares content for the college internal digital signage system as well as creates and distributes bi-monthly student and faculty-staff newsletter.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Social Media:

· Serves as administrator for digital platforms; plans, produces, and places appropriate posts for all social media platforms.

· Uses social media marketing tools to create and maintain the college brand

· Collaborates with marketing team, student affairs and academic faculty to develop social media marketing campaigns

· Interacts with students and other stakeholders via the college’s social media accounts

· Assists the marketing team with the development and implementation of social media ads and related marketing needs, including ad placement and purchasing processes of ad placement

· Evaluates effectiveness of social media platforms using analytics and other tools, making recommendations on where improvements can be made.

· Researches social media trends and informs management of changes that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities.

· Sets key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measuring a campaign’s performance against the KPIs

Videography & Photography

· Utilizes video and photography skills and techniques for streaming events and sharing content on social platforms and digital signage

· Creates graphic content for social media positing

Internal Communications

· Creates content for college digital signage

· Creates and distributes

o monthly student newsletter

o monthly faculty-staff newsletter

Customer Service and Administration

· Cultivates and maintains professional relationships with faculty, staff and students, clients or customers by identifying needs, gathering information, and responding accordingly

· Attends college and community events for the purpose of social media content publication

· Performs other related duties as assigned

· MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Communications, Multimedia Design, Film or in a field of study closely related is required. Or an Associate’s degree in a

closely related field of study with (2) years of related paid work experience. Or a High School diploma plus (4) years of related paid work experience

• Possess a working knowledge of digital and social media, including sufficient experience planning and executing digital and social media initiatives

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

SALARY/BENEFITS: $43,559.22 annually. Benefits include paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program. Please be aware that Chattahoochee Tech employees will be paid by direct deposit, unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.

TELEWORK: Telework may be permitted for this position up to two days in a 40 hour workweek.
